3 Ways the Federal Trade Commission Can Put a Stop to Climate Greenwashing

It was an enlightening experience working with the Change Climate Project to understand current sentiment towards the FTC’s Guides for the Use of Environmental Marketing Claims.

Using OpenAI ChatGPT 4 I analyzed 450 PDF pages of public comments on the Federal Trade Commission "Green Guides" (representing submissions from 40+ organizations) submitted between December 2022 and April 2023. In addition to comment summaries and general sentiment, I prompted ChatGPT 4 to analyze targeted sentiment related to carbon credits/offsets and consumer-facing labels and terminology. It was a true learning experience on multiple fronts!
